As every pet is unique in their own way and there are many variables to the grooming process, I ask that you contact for pricing. Variables that affect pricing include your pet’s coat type, condition of the coat, breed of your pet, temperament of your pet, time between professional groomings, and your location. Please remember this is a personalized service at your location.

Health and Safety Notes

Heavy matting can be a serious health issue and can present major challenges for the pet stylist. Aesthetics are secondary to the well being of your pet. De-matting is inhumane to your pet and the only safe and humane way to remove them is by clipping/shaving them off. Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, abrasions, and injury to warts, moles or skin. Heavy matting can trap bacteria, mold, and fungus on the skin. Removal of matting may cause itchiness, redness, self-inflicted irritation, abrasions, sunburn, and failure of the hair to regrow properly. Every effort will be made to protect your pet’s skin while the mats are being removed. As the owner, you are responsible for the condition of your pet’s coat and may not hold K9 Design Mobile Pet Salon, LLC, or Gina Sutton responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat removal. A regular grooming schedule of 4-6 week scan help prevent matting.

Summer shave down

Heavy coated breeds should not be shaven or clipped down. In winter and summer, the coat acts as an insulator from cold and heat and assists in regulating the pet’s body temperature and protects them from sunburn. Coats that are clipped off may grown back dull, patchy, change in color, or not at all. If you are looking to reduce the shedding or keep your pet cool, we suggest you try our de-shedding program.

Senior pets & pets with health issues

The grooming procedures sometimes can be stressful, especially for a pet with health issues or a senior pet. The grooming process may expose hidden medical conditions or aggravate existing ones during or after the grooming process. Senior pets and pets with medical conditions have a greater risk of injury. I will groom the pet for cleanliness and comfort in styles that will not add to their stress. K9 Design will not be responsible for accident or injury to an elderly or health compromised pet during grooming.

Pet injury

Every effort and precaution is taken to ensure that your pet is handled in a kind, loving and humane way. Clients should realize, however, that we are not working with inanimate objects. Pets will move or jump unexpectedly. Any injury is handled as follows:

  1. Immediate first aid
  2. Notification to you
  3. If injury requires emergency care and you are not available, we will take your pet to the closest emergency clinic. We do our best to prevent accidents.

Safety comes first for everyone during the grooming session. Please inform us if your pet has ever bitten anyone or has aggressive tendencies. Owners will be held liable for bites or any property damage caused by your pet. I will stop the grooming process if I feel your pet’s behavior is compromising their safety or mine. I will charge for the amount of the groom that has been completed or $35.00, whichever is greater.

Top 10 reasons your pet’s haircut costs more than yours

10. Your hairdresser does not wash and clean your backside.
9. You do not go 8 weeks without washing or brushing your hair.
8. Your hairdresser does not have to give you a sanitary trim.
7. Your hairdresser does not have to clean your ears.
6. Your hairdresser does not have to clean the icky from your eyes.
5. You sit still for your hairdresser.
4. Your haircut does not include a pedicure.
3. Your hairdresser works with only the hair on your head.
2. You do not cry, scratch, bite, or try to run away from your hairdresser.

And the number one reason…

1. The likelihood of you having an accident while your hair is being done is extremely slim.
